Resumen

El carcinoma medular gástrico (CMG) es una neoplasia infrecuente y poco diferenciada que presenta un buen pronóstico, homólogo a otros tumores medulares originados en la mama, el pulmón, la región nasofaríngea, el timo y la glándula salivar. El diagnóstico incluye la reactividad para PAS-Alcian Blue, Alcian Blue, tricrómico de Masson y para reticulina. El CMG muestra una importante población linfocitaria (células T y B), células dendríticas, plasmodiales, y macrófagos gigantes multinucleados en estrecha relación con las células neoplásicas. Los resultados genómicos sugieren que el virus de Epstein-Barr (VEB) está asociado con el desarrollo del CMG.
